Forced Patriotism or how I lost in translation

So SC ruled that National Anthem must be played before movies in theaters. Ummm.... fascism much? I don't know, is it a too big deal or something that can be ignored? After all it's just a matter of 52 seconds.

This news reminded me of something I (one of the admin of Super Londay) encountered 6 months back. Someone asked us about the national anthem, that should we sing it or not? On our FB page Super Londay.

I did reply and being inclined to right wing of course I said that we should. But no, it wasn't that simple. I could have wrote that exact line in simple words but I took time thought about it and wrote a BIG ESSAY.

Here is what I wrote in exact Words: "Long answer so bear with me Londay:

Take a week, and I am gonna generalise this whole situation, so one week is 24 hours x 7 that's about 168 hours, that's about 6,048,00 seconds. Keep that numbers aside.

What's the Idea of a Nation? A country? It's people right. But wait forget news and other political shit, take ourselves instead. I get up at 6:30 (assuming my self a working class person), do my daily routines take a bus, local or metro and how does I look at the world? The people around? I certainly do not smile, I judge people, I always wear that hate face when I am in traffic I can kill anybody who overtakes me, who cut lanes, who jumps signals, f**k the crowd, autos buses that noises f**k all (generalising big time) it's all chaos out there but I reach office.

And Here is some interesting facts about us:

1. I don't want to put on seat belt until forced to

2. I don't want to wear helmet until forced to

3. Follow traffic rules hahahha

4. I don't want to pay taxes until forced to

5. I don't want to clean my surrounding until forced to

So you know "Bina lathi ke humare kaan main ju nahi rengti so hence SC's decision"

So moving on, I hate my boss, colleagues are good some are not I eat my lunch have couple of cigarettes-chai, and then some more work until it's time to go home and repeat all that stuff I did in the morning with crowd. Now I am home, sweet home, watching TV eating dinner and I get to sleep now. Repeat that to Friday and now it's weekend.

Where is my nation in that routine other than newspapers? TV news? What is the concept of it? You see we all need symbols to unite, like cricket for instance. It unites us no doubt. Because it acts as a symbol.

Now on weekend you decide to go to a movie of course it was hard week why not. So national anthem plays. And people can't dedicate 52 sec out of 6,048,00 to the nation as symbol in a week.

You see, and you will agree with me, Americans kill their presidents in movie because for them a presidential post doesn't mean the idea of a whole country, but you see their american flag, their movies never ever miss a chance to show and glorify their flag, take spider man, transformers, interstellar any movie you name, they never play with the spirit and symbol of the nation. And that's the biggest disappointment for us that there is a question like this in first place (not offending you, actually I am thankful to you that you raise that question because most of the people doesn't even know what they are supporting and what they are not) let's not break the spirit of the nation."

Wah Kya likha hai? GHANTA BC. As I was celebrating an assumed win over facebook argument the guys replied. And I swear to god this was written in encrypted english but I decoded it. You guys can try to.

Anyways what do you guys think? See, in my opinion "Kya farak padta hai yr". Har cheej ka hauwa kyun banane ka? I mean if you want to stand up go ahead and if not, it's perfectly fine, it's your right to remain seated nobody is telling you to stand up.
